Beautifully situated on the outer cliffs is Nordbornholms Røgeri. The original smokehouse on this site was built in 1898 but on 6 February 1952 the smokehouse burnt down and a new one was built.
In 1967, the smokehouse got a new owner, Arne Jacobsen, and in common parlance the smokehouse was always referred to as Arne’s Røgeri. At that time it was a small smokehouse producing mainly smoked herring, but to keep up with the demand for smoked products, several renovations were made over the next ten years and the smokehouse became more modern.
In 2002, Arne Jacobsen decided to sell the smokehouse, after which several renovations have taken place and today the smokehouse has a restaurant and an outdoor area with tables and benches where you can enjoy your lunch. In the smokehouse shop you can buy many different fish products.
